a good start on a rainy day

 

It is raining outside and the garden is getting greener and greener. Almost an explosion of nature out there! This morning I started my rainy day with some feel good items :) I made a strawberry-pear shake and had a few slices of our homemade bread (with dill and lime). A good start of the day accompanied by two new messages. I got one from my mom in Turkey, she wrote about her adventures in the new land. And I got a sweet happy letter from Anne (Breda)!

I found a nice package of new messages on my doormat today! A very cheerful envelope by Rinske. She also sent me some nice beads for our lovely little one ♥ and a handmade watercolour picture of our last ultrasound! So sweet!!
The red envelope with the Scandinavian horse is from Katrin (Germany), a new pen friend :) And last but not least a message from Eugenia (Kazachstan), one that has travelled many weeks to get here ;)

We've spent the night at the famous SS Rotterdam. A ship that sailed for several years between Rotterdam and New York after WOII. There are some great photo's in the halls of the ship showing us how it once used to be like. How impressive must it have been to arrive in New York after so many days at sea and see those amazingly high buildings rise from the horizon!

♥ sunny garden

 

Oh what a lovely sunny and relaxing day we've had! We enjoyed the sun in our lovely garden, moved some new grown plants, we weeded the garden and we sowed some wildflowers! Every time we're in our garden we realize how much we appreciate our own green space ♥ In the afternoon I made some homemade bread and a zucchini soup, our first lunch outside! Fiep loves to roll on the fresly cut grass, sweetheart.

After a busy week I found a pile of new messages on my desk. I hope I can reply all of them in this upcoming week :) A nice message from Anne (Breda), one from Steffi (Germany), one from Hanna (Japan) and a very pretty handwritten one from Anni (Finland). I love the smell of coffee on Anni's letter :)!

A SKY A DAY goes Niche

This last week I've been working pretty hard to make my 365 days project (A SKY A DAY) presentable. I'm very happy with the result and I really want to thank my dear friend Suus for having my project in her fabulous flowershop Niche. The project isn't finished yet, not untill the 20th of July but these 281 photo's are done! I really love the blue and grey shades all together. It works pretty well in her nice shop.

While the birds in our garden are preparing their nests and looking for some fresh insects to eat I decided to do the same :) No insects for me of course but a fresh fruit shake is something similar for me. I made the fantastic orange shake out of a mango, an orange, two stalks of celery and a dash of soy milk. Now all I need to do is prepare my own nest :) Let's clean!

A sweet letter is what I received today, sent by Elina. Her handwriting is beautiful and somehow so calm and controlled ♥  she is doing a course of letter press! Maybe some day I will too :)

good news on a sunny day

 

 

Today is a very special day!! The first 20 weeks have passed and we're all doing fine, we found out that we're having a healthy little girl in september! We're celebrating in the sun and shopping girl stuff :)

While thousends of people are getting ready to start the Rotterdam Marathon we're sipping tea and coffee and we're waiting for the perfect moment to support our friends! Go Go Go brave runners! Heroes!

Today's letter is from Christina. I love this card and it makes me long for warm summer days in our own garden. Just reading a book, waking up easy and being surrounded by beautiful flowers. I really hope those days will come very soon!
