sweet breaks

This day we went babyshopping for little Hanna! I've found tiny Mexican slippers with pompons and a handstitched blue dog. Down at Koekela we're taking a break and we satisfy our hunger with carrotcake and apple pie and tea!

popcorn in the cold

Old and cold. This evening we're on our way to the Korenbeurs in Schiedam. It's a free filmfestival and we're going to see the French film 'Poupoupidou'. Winter time!

City wolves in the shop window of the Bijenkorf. I like these windows a lot because they change quite often and are always as beautiful as this one. Almost like a page from a storybook.

a message from Amsterdam

A message from Janneke on the beach of my doormat. She always sends me these nice postcards of art works. Thank you! I'll keep it together with all the other postcards.

Handwritings can be beautiful. This one is from work; someone sent us a note, yes! I whish I could write like this.

autumn in the streets

In our neighbourhood all kinds of leaves are coming down. The machines haven't been here for a while and the leaves tend to look like snow. My shoes sometimes disappear in this autumn snow. The bottom photo reminds me of a river that's about to dry up. I like the colours.

the netherlands of Wim Gijzen

This interesting project of Dutch artist Wim Gijzen from 1972 represents a study of all villages of the Netherlands. He visited every village, made a portrait of himself and the villages' name, bought a postcard, made a photo from the shop where he bought it, posted it and made a photo of the mailbox. I really love this kind of mapping and documentation. Very interesting.

art, nature, art

Today we went to Hulst for a visit at the Verbeke Foundation. The scenery and art works are processes in time. It's more a studycentre for art works than a museum but that makes it so interesting. The last photo is a work from a Dutch artist; Jacobus Kloppenburg. He made an archive for the future that contains pieces of the things he made, saw and liked. Really nice! A fantastic day!!

the woods

The best way to clear your mind and take it easy. We went for a walk in the woods, all the autumn colours are beautiful. There are so many variations of green, red and yellow. Beautiful!

Last week I've developped my film role (finally). Great pictures from this summer showed up. It's always such a nice surprise! Let's make some more.

berlin day 4

In the early morning we went to this fleamarket at Mauerpark. It's my favorite, there are so many old things that look great and there was a lot of sunshine and chilltime :). A good place to end a fantastic weekend!

Another sunny day! We all rented a bike an rode along eastern Berlin. We came across this nice restaurant which is set in an old house, great colours and atmosphere.

Today we are all together! We've made a long walk through east Berlin and came across this little pink bakery. Cute cakes, drinks and decor. I like the old communist style of Berlin, it's free, rough and yet it works.

This morning I took the train to the airport around 5.30 am. I took a flight to Berlin! Berlin is wonderful, truly an inspiring city! I've made a walk and read my book. Tomorrow my friends are joining me, hoezee :)

Mail time! My mom sent me a necklace with a small bird by mail. Today I finally dropped of this little letter in the mail box nearby the park. Miauw!

Finally! We've checked out this wonderful garden and old farmhouse for our wedding location. We're wishing for lots of sunshine next year so that we can celebrate our wedding with our friends in this garden! We're looking forward to the big day!
